On June 14-15, the 2019 China Regional Economic Forum and the Annual Conference on Discipline Construction were successfully held in our university. The conferences were hosted by the Chinese Association for Regional Economics and our university -- Shanxi University of Finance and Economics, and organized by the Institute of Resource-based Economic Transformation Development, Collaborative Innovation Center for Resource-based Economic Transformation and Resource-based Economic Research Center. More than 200 experts and scholars from more than 40 universities, scientific research institutions and academic journals, including Peking University, Chinese Academy of Social Science, Nankai University and Renmin University of China, attended the meeting. More than 80 papers were submitted for the conference, and the conference was also supported by academic journals such as the Regional Economic Review and the Journal of Shanxi University of Finance and Economics.

The president of our university, Professor Liu Weiqi, pointed out that under the background of the country’s vigorous implementation of regional coordinated development strategy, Shanxi University of Finance and Economics will also give full play to its core resource advantages in the financial and economic fields, deepen the exchanges and cooperation, and sharpen academic ideas with colleagues to jointly create a new situation of regional economic research, and try our best to make new and greater contributions to China’s regional harmonious development.
