Martin Kendrick,vice president of College of Business, Law and Social Sciences, invited to visit SXUFE for academic exchange

On the morning of December 3, 2018, Martin Kendrickthe Vice President of College of Business, Law and Social Sciences, also as one distinguished professor of Sun Wah International Business School Liaoning University, was invited to visit SXUFE for academic exchange. Zhong Ruoyu, the vice president as well as member of the standing committees of the Party Committee of SXUFE, met with professor Martin Kendrick and conducted in-depth discussions on matters closely related with international exchanges and cooperation between the two universities. The heads of International Exchange and Cooperation Office and the relevant personnel attended the meeting.

Vice President Zhong expressed warm welcome to the guests coming from afar and introduced the basic conditions of SXUFE’s enrollment scale, subject development, specialties setup and so on. He pointed out that Derby University ranked 29th in UK in the comprehensive ranking of the Guardian newspaper in 2018. Some of its majors such as accounting, tourism management, business, law, design and alike are strongly matched with those corresponding ones of SXUFE’s, and he hoped the two universities can extend inter-university cooperation in various fields such as personnel training and collaborative research.

Martin Kendrick introduced Derby University’s history, professional characteristics, school characteristics and all types of cooperation programs. He said this was unforgettable visit for exchanges, and hoped that the two universities could carry out in-depth cooperation in business, law, social sciences and other professional fields.

The head of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and Martin Kendrick conducted in-depth exchanges on the cooperation between the two universities. The two sides reached consensus on teacher exchanges and mutual visits, students' short-term study and scientific research cooperation. Under the hold of the head of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, SXUFE's teacher representatives of school-funded oversea visiting scholar programs, students counsellor representatives, and student representatives had in-depth communications with Martin Kendrick and representatives of Derby University in stages. The participating teachers and students listened carefully to Martin Kendrick’s introduction about the study program in Derby University and exchanged ideas on topics of mutual interests.
