January 28th, Chinese new year activity was initiated in Pingyaogucheng, international student in our school were invited to this event, together with nearly a hundred students coming from 5 continents, over 30 countries, gathering around here to learn about the city, and were exposed to ancient culture.

It was the first time for students from abroad to get involved in Chinese new year celebration, who then took group tours to Xiangfen lotus folk village and visited national pastoral complex. They also experienced local culture and took part in a welcome party in the evening. January 29th, students went to Jin Nan ceramic town to gain insights of traditional ceramic art.

Wang Shuofu, a Pakistan student from the faculty of economics said studying abroad makes him fall in love with China, along with Shanxi university of finance and economics. He pointed out that this activity enables him to gain a deeper understanding of wonderful Chinese festivals and various lifestyles which broadens his mind. According to a Pakistan student Hu Shu, the tour benefits her a lot, it allows her to truly apprehend the profound and magnificent Chinese culture. She particularly fancies the vigorous spirituality she perceived in Pingyaogucheng and found herself enjoying the sweet taste of savory snacks. Apart from that, she also made many Chinese friends, feeling the warmhearted hospitality of Chinese people.
